Quality & Provenance

The history of matcha green tea dates back to the 7th century, when Chinese and Japanese dynasties ruled. They honoured matcha for its delicious taste and the fantastic benefits it has on wellbeing. The tea leaves were produced in small quantities and regarded as a symbol of wealth and status for centuries after. It is believed that a Japanese Buddhist monk brought the seeds from China to Japan, where the cultivation methods of matcha were refined and perfected to maximise the health benefits of this powerful plant. Matcha continues to be celebrated in the Japanese culture where it is still often used to induce a feeling of calm alertness prior to meditation, but it has also gained popularity all over the world for its ability to provide a less jittery pick-me-up.

Our matcha green tea is grown in the shade to preserve its chlorophyll content, steamed, air-dried and stone-ground into a super-fine powder in Japan following the best traditional Japanese practices to maintain its delicious flavour and superior quality. We source Reishi, a rich toned mushroom revered by Far Eastern cultures for its bioactive properties, from China where it has been cultivated and consumed for millennia. We also added calcium from a natural source of seaweed to support your energy levels and 500 live bio cultures to help keep your digestive system healthy and happy!

Good soap

Soaps are hardly perfumed and not enough turmeric in it. It's quite pale in colour. Does lather up ok.

Nice alternative

I was told by my doctor that I need to give up coffee, so I was looking for an alternative and came across matcha. This matcha latte is a nice intro into matcha and is simple and easy to make. I've noticed it does give me a pick me up, but without the intensity or jitters that you get with coffee. I've also noticed that if I have one in the afternoon, it doesn't affect my sleep, so that is a nice bonus.
